   He was born in 1952 in Odessa. In 1975 graduated Odessa polytechnic institute for specialty "Computing machines". After graduating institute he started to work on faculty of automation and computer engineering, where he worked on positions of assistant, senior lecturer, assistant professor, professor. In 1984 he defended his candidate dissertation (PhD thesis) in the Leningrad institute of mechanics and optics.

  From 1987 till 1992 he worked on a position of vice-dean of automation and computer engineering faculty. In 2003 he defended his doctor’s dissertation (DSc thesis). In 2004 he obtained the scientific title of Professor at the department of intellectual computer systems and networks. Since 2003 for 2008 he worked on a director position of computer systems institute. Since 2009 he works on a position of vice-rector for Academic Affairs Science and Education of Odessa national polytechnic university.

    His areas of scientific interests are designing, control and diagnostics of computer networks. He published more then 200 scientific and methodical works and two monographies. He has 11 Authors Certificates and Patents of Ukraine.

    Nesterenko S.А. works on a professor position of intellectual systems and networks department. He prepared ten lecture courses on a direction "Computer engineering".

   He is the chairman of specialized scientific council K. 41.052.08 and member of specialized scientific council D.41.052.01. Under his management 6 candidate dissertations are executed. In 2007 he was elected as chairman of regional council of computer science and computer engineering at southern branch of Ukraine National Academy of Science.
